Open Mic Night….

I totally need to finish my “Day 3″ post on Band Camp. I have been so overwhelmed with processing the events of last week I have not yet come to a place where I can properly articulate a post for my 3rd and last day of camp.

So, for now, here is a video of me playing at the “Open Mic” thingie we had the last night. The audio is really bad but I still it is cool :-) . Enjoy it for what it is.

Oh, here are the lyrics for your perusing pleasure. There are a few lines I want to rework but I really like what I have so far.

The Hard Roads
I’m not looking for a new song
Or some original thought
I’m not writing this to wow you
But simply to share my heart

You and I We’ve walked some hard roads
And I know there must be more
Well I thank you for the hard roads
And the easy ones alike

I’m not looking for a free ride
Or the easy out
The road ahead seems so imposing
But I know you’ve walked this part

Walking down another hard road
Could you carry me a while
I need to trust you on the hard roads
And the easy ones alike

The day is coming
When I’ll see you
Face to face
we’re gonna stand
You will say well done my faithful
Enter in your fathers rest

You and I
We walked the hard roads
And I see the purpose now
Well I thank you for the all your patience
For the hard roads led right to you

I don’t think I’ve ever met you, Chad. I know your wife from high school. That was really touching. You write and sing beautiful music. Keep it up!
