When God Ran…
When I was a kid I LOVED Benny Hester. I probably wore out at least two of his tapes.
One of his songs I love best is, “When God Ran”.
When I was in the shower this morning the lyrics popped into my head and I was struck by the amazing fact that God ran to me and continues to run to me, every single day.
My wife Sarah has been sharing her story over at her blog this week and the impact has been breathtaking. My part of the story will come in time. But for now, read the lyrics below and then check out the story unfolding at her site.
He ran to me, Took me in His arms, held my head to His chest And said "My son's come home again".
Looked in my face, wiped the tears from my eyes With forgiveness in His voice
He said "Son, do you know I still love you?"

Hey Chad! I loved Benny Hester and that song too. Wow, memories. Great post, and Sarah's comment made me cry. I've been telling people to read Sarah's unfolding story this week. Praise God for redemption and grace, and bringing you both (and your family) back together. I hope to hear your side sometime.
I LOVE THIS SONG!! Phillips Craig and Dean sing it as well and I am in love with it… That song makes me cry everytime. It's amazing.
i love this song. it always brings tears to my eyes.
I am so glad I found you and Sarah both. Your story is just so amazing… really beyond what I can express. I look forward to hearing your side. I think it's such an incredibly beautiful thing to see your restored marriage. That's the best happy ending ever.
We did that song as a solo to close our Easter service a few years back. Awesome song, thanks for the reminder!
I've been reading Sarah's blog and impressed by the … forgiveness, acceptance, faith … in the story. Thanks to both of you for sharing. I love "When God Ran .." God Bless
Hello Chad!
I found Sarah's blog last week, and it's been so good for me to read her words because I went through something similar a while ago. I really, really hope you'll write the story from your perspective, because my husband and I are still working through our issues and I think it would be really helpful for me to see another guy's viewpoint. Of course, the situations aren't exact, but reading what you experienced/felt/went through would be really beneficial, I think, for a lot of people.
You seem like really good people! I'm so happy to have found you both!
